Sunday, 02 August
We meet at the airport at 04:15 for flight KM352 to Düsseldorf, which departs at 06:15 and arrives at 09:10.
Transfer to Königswinter, a picturesque village where we will ride the oldest railway from 1883 (optional) that takes us up Drachenfels Hill. Here we will see Drachenburg Castle from the 19th century, medieval castle ruins, and some of the most beautiful views of the Rhine River. Afterwards, we continue to the center of Cologne, where we will stay at the 4-star Dorint Hotel am Heumarkt.
Monday, 03 August
Breakfast, and then together with the tour leader, we will have a tour of the city of Cologne, visiting the Kölner Dom, the impressive Gothic cathedral and symbol of the city. We continue in the Altstadt, the old town, where we will admire the narrow, picturesque streets, the Rathaus, and Heumarkt Square, which has many cafés and small shops. A little free time. In the afternoon, an interesting excursion to the city of Aachen, a beautiful city full of history. We will visit the main points of interest, such as the cathedral and the Elisenbrunnen fountain, while strolling through the beautiful streets filled with cafés and gelaterias that are hard to resist! We return to Cologne for a tour with the tour leader to see more sights.
Tuesday, 04 August
A beautiful excursion that will take us to the Loreley Valley and the charming villages of Koblenz and Rüdesheim am Rhein. We will travel through one of the most beautiful landscapes along both sides of the Rhine River. Together with the tour leader, we will see the historic center with its narrow streets, the Rathaus, Munzplatz, and Liebfrauenkirche. We continue to Rüdesheim am Rhein, an old town on the Rhine located south of Koblenz. Upon our arrival in Rüdesheim am Rhein, we will visit Marktplatz, Adlerturm (Eagle Tower), and Drosselgasse – a street full of small wine shops, pubs, and where we can taste Rüdesheimer Kaffee.
Wednesday, 05 August
A full free day to continue enjoying this beautiful and vibrant city, allowing you to experience history, architecture, and modern life all at once. Here you will also find shopping centers with stores such as Primark, C&A, and other major shops. For those who wish, we will organize a fun day at Phantasialand, a famous amusement park near Cologne (optional), with roller coasters and attractions for the whole family.
Thursday, 06 August
An interesting excursion to Maastricht in the Netherlands. Maastricht is one of the most popular cities with tourists. During the city tour, we will see Stokstraat Quarter, Basilica of Our Lady, The Romparts, and more. Afterwards, we visit Valkenburg aan de Geul, where we will stop for sightseeing. Here you will find many shops, bars, and restaurants. We then continue to Cologne Airport for Ryanair flight FR5205 KM353, which departs at 19:05 and arrives back in Malta at 21.50
