Tuesday 11 May – Bern
We meet at Malta International Airport at 12:00 for our direct KM Malta Airlines flight KM490 to Zurich, departing at 14:15 and arriving at 16:45. After collecting our luggage, we travel by coach to Bern, Switzerland’s beautiful capital. We check in at the Hotel Kreuz Bern 3★, centrally located just a short walk from the historic old town.
Wednesday 12 May – Bern, Rose Garden & Murten
After breakfast, we enjoy a walk through Bern’s historic old town. We discover its medieval streets, historic buildings and famous clock tower, the Zytglogge. In the afternoon, we visit the Rose Garden, a beautiful park offering wonderful views over Bern’s rooftops and the River Aare. We then continue to Murten, a charming medieval town on the shores of the lake bearing the same name. Here, we have time to explore its picturesque streets and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere before returning to our hotel.
Thursday 13 May – Thun, Spiez & Blausee
After breakfast, we set off on a full-day excursion surrounded by beautiful scenery. Our first stop is Thun, an attractive town where we can enjoy the historic centre and views towards the mountains. We continue to Spiez, a beautiful town on the shores of Lake Thun, known for its picturesque bay and castle. Later, we visit Blausee Nature Park (entrance fee extra), a lovely park surrounded by trees and mountains. We can follow the nature trails and admire Lake Blausee, famous for its crystal-clear water and striking blue colour. Trout can also be seen swimming in the clear waters.
Friday 14 May – Glacier 3000 & Gstaad
We set off for another day amid the spectacular scenery of the Swiss Alps. We travel to Glacier 3000 (cable car extra), where we can admire impressive views of the mountains and glaciers. We then continue to Gstaad, an elegant and picturesque Alpine village known for its traditional wooden chalets and attractive streets. We have time to explore the centre and enjoy its charming atmosphere before returning to our hotel.
Saturday 15 May – Solothurn & Return to Malta
After breakfast, we depart for Solothurn, a beautiful historic town on the River Aare, known for its Baroque buildings and picturesque streets. We have time to enjoy our final few hours in Switzerland before continuing to Zurich Airport. We return on direct KM Malta Airlines flight KM491, departing at 17:40 and arriving in Malta at 20:00.
