Celebebrate New Year in Vienna

Visiting: Vienna, Prater, Melk, Krems, Heiligenkreuz, Mayerling, Vienna Woods, Seegrotte & Bratislava

Monday 28 December: We meet at Malta International Airport at 06:45 for flight KM514, departing at 09:25 and arriving in Vienna at 11:45. Transfer by coach to Vienna, the City of Waltzes and the capital of Austria. We stop near Schönbrunn Palace to admire its beautiful gardens and famous Christmas Market. Free time before continuing to our hotel for check-in at the Hotel Ananas 4 Stars. Later, those who wish may join the tour leader to begin discovering this magnificent city.

Tuesday 29 December: After Buffet Breakfast, we offer a fascinating excursion through the beautiful Vienna Woods. We travel by coach through the Helenental Valley to Mayerling, where we visit the former hunting lodge, now a chapel, of Crown Prince Rudolf, the only son of Emperor Franz Joseph. It was here that Rudolf and Baroness Vetsera are believed to have taken their lives in 1889. We then continue to Heiligenkreuz, where we visit the impressive 12th-century Cistercian Monastery. Passing through Höldrichsmühle, we arrive at the famous Seegrotte (entrance fee extra). Once a gypsum mine, Seegrotte is home to the largest underground lake in Europe, where visitors may enjoy a boat trip through this unique attraction. An experience not to be missed! In the evening, we go out together for a drink.

Wednesday 30 December: Breakfast followed by a city tour with a local guide to discover Vienna’s most beautiful landmarks, including: Belvedere Palace, Rathaus (City Hall), Parliament Building, Ringstraße, Hofburg Palace, St. Stephen’s Cathedral The afternoon is free for you to continue exploring this wonderful city. You may wish to visit Hofburg Palace, the former Imperial Palace in the city centre, or enjoy shopping along the elegant streets of Mariahilfer Straße and Kärntner Straße. In the evening, we visit the famous Prater (transport extra), where you may ride the iconic Giant Ferris Wheel (extra) and enjoy spectacular views of Vienna illuminated at night.

Thursday 31 December: Today we visit Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. Together we explore this charming city situated on the Danube River. We begin by visiting Bratislava Castle, which dominates the city skyline and offers breathtaking panoramic views. We then continue into the historic centre where we see: Main Square, Michael’s Gate, St. Martin’s Cathedral, Primate’s Palace Free time for shopping or sightseeing. Later, we return to Vienna to prepare for an unforgettable evening. The hotel will organise a special New Year's Eve Celebration (optional).

Friday 01 January 2027 Happy New Year!: Buffet Breakfast followed by a fascinating full-day excursion to the beautiful Wachau Valley. We travel through a landscape of historic villages, castles, rolling hills and spectacular views of the Danube River. We visit: Krems, a town with over 1,000 years of history Melk, famous for its magnificent Baroque Benedictine Monastery (entrance fee extra). A wonderful opportunity to discover one of Austria’s most scenic regions.

Saturday 02 January: Breakfast and transfer by coach to Vienna Airport for flight KM515, departing at 11:45 and arriving back in Malta at 12:35.
