Day 1 – Malta – Stockholm
We meet at Malta International Airport for Lufthansa flights LH1315/LH804 to Stockholm via Frankfurt. We depart Malta at 05:55 and arrive in Stockholm at 15:55. Coach transfer to central Stockholm, where we will be staying at the 4-star Mornington Hotel.
Day 2 – Drottningholm – Vasa Museum – Old Town
A visit to Stockholm would not be complete without discovering Drottningholm Palace and the famous Vasa Museum. Drottningholm Palace (entrance extra) is the private residence of the Swedish Royal Family. We will have time to admire its magnificent gardens before continuing to the island of Djurgården to visit the Vasa Museum (entrance extra). Here we see a remarkable ship that spent three centuries beneath the sea and is now restored and displayed in this renowned museum. Free time. In the evening, we visit the Old Town with our Tour Leader, followed by dinner at a traditional restaurant.
Day 3 – Stockholm
After buffet breakfast, we continue exploring beautiful Stockholm, a city built across several islands. We see the Cathedral associated with the coronation of Swedish monarchs, renowned for its impressive statue of St George; City Hall (entrance extra), associated with the Nobel Prize celebrations; the Opera House; and Stortorget, the city’s oldest square. In the afternoon, free time for shopping and personal sightseeing. Dinner at a restaurant.
Day 4 – Stockholm – Copenhagen
Breakfast and departure for Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. We cross the bridge linking Sweden and Denmark, which opened in 2000. On arrival, we check in at the centrally located 4-star Tivoli Hotel. In the evening, a walk with our Tour Leader.
Day 5 – Copenhagen
Today we discover Copenhagen, a charming city that is sure to captivate you. Accompanied by a local guide, we see City Hall, the Hans Christian Andersen monument and the delightful Little Mermaid statue on the waterfront. We also visit Christiansborg Palace (entrance extra). Afterwards, weather permitting, there will be an optional canal boat trip (extra), offering a wonderful perspective of the city from the water. Free time for personal sightseeing and souvenir shopping.
Day 6 – Gefion – Kronborg – Tivoli Gardens
Today we see the legendary Gefion Fountain before continuing to Kronborg Castle, the setting of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. In the evening, those who wish may visit the famous Tivoli Gardens (entrance extra), situated a few minutes from the hotel. This popular attraction offers entertainment and activities for an enjoyable evening, with plenty of restaurants to choose from for dinner.
Day 7 – North Zealand – Copenhagen – Overnight Cruise to Oslo
A delightful excursion to North Zealand. We travel through beautiful woodland to Hillerød, where we visit Frederiksborg Palace (entrance extra), built by King Christian IV in 1625, and admire its magnificent gardens. Afterwards, we return to central Copenhagen for some time before continuing to the port. Here we board our ship to Oslo, Norway. Overnight accommodation in inside cabins. Buffet dinner on board
Day 8 – Oslo – Geilo
Beautiful scenery welcomes us as we enter the Oslo Fjord. Buffet breakfast on board. We arrive in Oslo at 09:30. Over the next five days, we will admire spectacular fjords, mountains, glaciers and waterfalls. We begin our coach journey to Geilo. Accommodation at the 4-star Ustedalen Hotel and dinner at the hotel.
Day 9 – Flåm – Sognefjord – Sogndal
We travel through continuously changing, breathtaking scenery until we reach Flåm, a picturesque village in the Aurland region. We continue to join an optional Sognefjord cruise (extra), before travelling onwards to Sogndal. Accommodation at the Quality Sogndal Hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 10 – Briksdal Glacier
Join us for an excursion to the magnificent Briksdalsbreen Glacier, surrounded by streams and mountains in a spectacular natural setting. An impressive mass of ice fills the valley between the mountains. Together with the scenery along our coach journey, these views will provide unforgettable memories. On arrival at Briksdalsbreen, we leave the coach, and those who wish may take an electric vehicle (extra) closer to the glacier. After enjoying this beautiful natural landscape, we return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 11 – Lom – Dalsnibba – Geiranger
Another day of spectacular scenery as we travel towards Geiranger. Along the way, we pass picturesque lakes and snow-covered mountains. Our first stop is the charming village of Lom. We continue to Mount Dalsnibba, the highest point on the Golden Route, where we can admire a magnificent mountain panorama and enjoy excellent opportunities for postcard-perfect photographs. You may forget its name, but you will certainly remember the views! Accommodation at the 4-star Geiranger Hotel. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 12 – Geiranger Fjord – Hellesylt
We continue enjoying the natural beauty for which Norway is famous. Today we have the opportunity to take a cruise along the renowned Geiranger Fjord, described as “The King of Fjords”. During the cruise, we admire spectacular mountains and beautiful waterfalls as we travel towards Hellesylt, where we see its famous waterfall from on board. We return to the hotel and have free time. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 13 – Lillehammer – Oslo
We leave Geiranger with wonderful memories and begin our journey towards Oslo, Norway’s capital. Along the way, we stop in Lillehammer before continuing to Oslo. Accommodation at the 4-star Radisson Blu Hotel. Afterwards, an outing with our Tour Leader.
Day 14 – Oslo
Breakfast. A guided coach tour of Oslo introduces us to the city’s main attractions. These include Karl Johans gate, Parliament, the Royal Palace, Aker Brygge, City Hall, Akershus Fortress and Vigeland Park. At Holmenkollen, we also see the famous Holmenkollbakken ski jump. In the afternoon, free time for personal sightseeing. Those who wish may take an optional Oslo Fjord cruise aboard a “Pirate Ship” (extra).
Day 15 – Oslo – Malta
Breakfast and departure for Oslo Airport for Lufthansa flights LH861/LH1314 to Malta via Frankfurt. We depart Oslo at 16:40 and arrive in Malta at 23:05.
