Visiting: Prague, Dresden, Karlovy Vary & Český Krumlov

Tuesday 15 December We meet at Malta International Airport at 14:45 for flight KM538, departing at 17:20 and arriving in Prague at 19:50.We then proceed to the Hotel Prague Season 4 Stars, centrally located in the city.Room allocation and free time. Several restaurants offering excellent value for money can be found close to the hotel.

Wednesday 16 DecemberBreakfast.The city of Prague has so much to offer, and today we enjoy a city tour discovering some of its most famous attractions. We visit the magnificent Prague Castle Complex, home to: St. Vitus Cathedral, St. George’s Basilica,The Royal Palace We continue to the famous Church of the Infant Jesus of Prague, Kampa Island, Charles Bridge, and other important landmarks.In the afternoon, those interested may join the tour leader for an optional Vltava River Cruise (extra), offering a completely different perspective of the city. Later, free time to enjoy one of Prague’s famous Christmas Markets in Wenceslas Square. In the evening, an optional Dinner & Folklore Show will be organised in a traditional Czech venue.

Thursday 17 December: A full-day excursion takes us to the beautiful German city of Dresden, often referred to as the “Florence of the North.” Dresden is considered one of Germany’s most magnificent cities and offers an impressive collection of historic landmarks. Among the highlights we will admire are: The Castle near Theaterplatz, Semper Opera House, Sempergalerie, Taschenbergpalais, Hofkirche. We also visit the famous Fürstenzug (Procession of Princes). Free time will be available to enjoy the famous Striezelmarkt, one of Germany’s oldest and most beautiful Christmas Markets.

Friday 18 December: Buffet Breakfast followed by an excursion to Český Krumlov, considered one of the most beautiful towns in Bohemia. This UNESCO World Heritage Site enjoys a truly spectacular setting along the Vltava River. During our journey, we pass through picturesque villages and beautiful countryside before arriving in Český Krumlov. We visit the historic centre and may also visit the famous Český Krumlov Castle (entrance extra). We also enjoy the Christmas Market in Svornosti Square. Later, we return to Prague where there will be an opportunity to continue exploring the city’s various Christmas Markets.

Saturday 19 December: A fascinating excursion takes us to Karlovy Vary, situated in western Bohemia. Throughout our journey, we admire the beautiful countryside before arriving in this elegant spa town located in a picturesque valley. Together with our guide, we visit: St. Mary Magdalene Church, The famous Spa Colonnades, The thermal fountains. Karlovy Vary is renowned worldwide for its crystal production and is home to some of the finest crystal brands in the world. No visit would be complete without tasting the famous Karlovy Vary Wafers, the traditional Becherovka Liqueur, and the town’s natural mineral spring water. There will be ample time to enjoy the Christmas Markets, featuring traditional food, handcrafted gifts and festive entertainment.Later, we continue to Prague Airport for flight KM539, departing at 20:40 and arriving back in Malta at 23:10.
