Visit: Munich, Neuschwanstein Castle, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Salzburg, Zugspitze, Rosenheim & Ettal

Sunday 27 December: We meet at Malta International Airport at 07:00 for check-in for flight KM306, departing at 07:15 and arriving in Munich at 09:45. Transfer by coach to the Olympic Village, where we see the Olympic Stadium and have the opportunity to take the lift (extra) for unique panoramic views. We then continue to Munich and check in at the centrally located Hotel Munich City 4 Stars. Later, we enjoy an orientation walk through Munich’s historic centre to get our first impression of the magical festive atmosphere, beautifully illuminated with Christmas lights and decorated squares.

Monday 28 December: A fascinating excursion to discover the beauty of Neuschwanstein Castle, the world-famous fairytale castle of King Ludwig II, built in Neo-Romanesque style. We also visit Marienbrücke (Mary’s Bridge), offering spectacular photo opportunities of the castle. We continue to Hohenschwangau Castle, where those interested may visit the castle interiors and admire its beauty (entrance fee extra). Later, we visit the charming town of Füssen, a popular holiday and spa resort nestled in the foothills of the Alps. Here we enjoy a walk through the historic town centre.

Tuesday 29 December: Breakfast followed by a half-day excursion to the beautiful city of Augsburg. During our visit, we see some of the city's most important landmarks, including: St. Peter am Perlach, Zeughaus, Fuggerhaus Afterwards, free time in the city centre where you will find numerous shops, cafés and restaurants. Later, we return to Munich for free time to continue enjoying the city.

Wednesday 30 December: A day full of history as we visit the famous Austrian city of Salzburg. As everyone knows, Salzburg is not only renowned for its beauty and historical significance, but also for its close connection to the famous musical film The Sound of Music. During our visit we see: Salzburg Cathedral, Residenzplatz, Market Square Getreidegasse, Mozart’s Birthplace We also visit Kapitelplatz, from where you may take the funicular (extra) to the magnificent Hohensalzburg Fortress. Free time to enjoy this beautiful city, its festive atmosphere and Christmas Markets.

Thursday 31 December: Breakfast and a free day to continue exploring this beautiful city and enjoying its festive atmosphere. In the evening, you may head to the main square where numerous celebrations and activities take place to welcome the New Year. Alternatively, for those interested, we organise a special New Year’s Eve Celebration (extra) featuring food, drinks, music, dancing and plenty of festive entertainment. Ask for further details.

Friday 01 January 2027: Happy New Year! Breakfast followed by another wonderful day discovering the beauty of the Bavarian Alps. Today we visit Mount Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain at 9,718 feet (2,962 metres). From Eibsee, we take the cable car (extra) to the summit, where we enjoy spectacular panoramic views across the Bavarian Alps. Later, we return to the hotel.

Saturday 02 January: Breakfast and departure for the beautiful Bavarian town of Rosenheim. Upon arrival, we enjoy a guided walk through the town centre, visiting important landmarks including: Max-Josefs-Platz, St. Nikolaus Church, Ludwigsplatz, The Cathedral. Free time for personal sightseeing and shopping. Later, transfer to Munich Airport for flight KM309, departing at 20:00 and arriving back in Malta at 22:20.
