Easter Holidays
Wednesday 24 March – Skopje
We meet at Malta International Airport at 18.00 for our direct Wizz Air flight W6 7766 to Skopje, departing at 20.35. We arrive at 22.15 and travel by coach to the Best Western Turist 3*+, where we check into our rooms.
Thursday 25 March – Skopje & Mount Vodno
After breakfast, we begin our excursion around the capital city, Skopje. During our visit, we enjoy an interesting combination of modern buildings, monuments and old streets. We see the main square and the Stone Bridge, which connects the modern and historic parts of the city. We also walk through the Old Bazaar, with its narrow streets, traditional shops and distinctive atmosphere. We then continue to the Millennium Cross on Mount Vodno, taking the cable car (not included) to enjoy panoramic views of Skopje and its surroundings. Afterwards, we visit the Macedonian Village to appreciate the country’s traditional architecture. We return to the hotel for dinner.
Friday 26 March – Matka, Mavrovo, Struga & Ohrid
After breakfast and check-out, we depart from Skopje towards Ohrid. Our first stop is Matka Canyon, a beautiful location where the water and towering cliffs create spectacular scenery. We then continue towards the Mavrovo area, enjoying its mountainous landscapes and natural beauty. Our journey also takes us to Struga, where we have time for a short walk and to enjoy the atmosphere of this town near Lake Ohrid. Later, we arrive in Ohrid and proceed to Hotel Nova Riviera, where we check into our rooms. Dinner at the hotel.
Saturday 27 March – Ohrid
After breakfast, we enjoy an excursion around the picturesque town of Ohrid. We walk through the streets of the old town, where traditional houses, historic churches and lake views give this town its special character. During our visit, we appreciate Ohrid’s historical and cultural heritage and enjoy its lovely atmosphere. Entrance fees to any churches or monuments visited by the group are not included. We also have the opportunity to take a boat trip on Lake Ohrid (not included), allowing us to admire the town and its shoreline from a different perspective. Afterwards, we have free time to continue enjoying the centre. Dinner at the hotel.
Sunday 28 March – Bay of Bones & Saint Naum
After breakfast, we have free time to enjoy Ohrid at a leisurely pace. Those who wish may visit the church situated approximately ten minutes’ walk from the hotel. In the afternoon, we depart on an excursion along the lakeshore towards the Bay of Bones (entrance fee not included), where we see a reconstruction of an ancient settlement built on platforms over the water. We continue to the Monastery of Saint Naum, set in beautiful natural surroundings close to the lake. Entrance to the church is not included. We have time to enjoy the surroundings and lovely views. In the evening, we enjoy a traditional Macedonian dinner accompanied by folk entertainment.
Monday 29 March – Bitola
After breakfast, we depart on a full-day excursion to Bitola, a city known for its history, culture and elegant buildings. During our visit, we enjoy a walk through the centre and along Širok Sokak, the main pedestrian street, lined with cafés, shops and attractive façades. We soak up the city’s atmosphere and have free time for lunch and shopping. Dinner at the hotel.
Tuesday 30 March – Skopje & Malta
After breakfast and check-out, we depart from Ohrid at 08.00 towards Skopje Airport for our direct Wizz Air flight W6 7765, departing at 13.00 and arriving in Malta at 14.45.
