Day 1
Meet the tour leader at Malta International Airport at 05:15. Check-in for flight KM306 to Munich departing at 07:15 and arriving at Munich Airport at 09:45. Transfer by coach to Bad Gastein, with a stop to visit the beautiful Austrian village of Kufstein, known for its typical Tyrolean atmosphere and picturesque surroundings. Continue to our 4* Hotel Mundi. Room check-in followed by a walk with the tour leader to get better acquainted with the area.
Day 2
Breakfast, then depart for an excursion to the picturesque village of Hallstatt, one of the most beautiful places in Austria. Visit the famous Hallstatt Salt Mines, among the oldest in the world, where we will experience an interesting tour about the history of salt extraction (entrance extra). We will also have the opportunity to go up to the Hallstatt Skywalk, a panoramic platform offering spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Free time to enjoy the historic centre of the village before returning to the hotel.
Day 3
After breakfast, excursion to Klagenfurt, the capital of the Carinthia region. Walking tour of the historic centre where we will see the main squares, the famous Lindwurm Dragon Fountain and other places of interest. Continue to Velden am Wörthersee, an elegant resort on the shores of Lake Wörthersee, known for its luxury hotels and beautiful promenade. Free time to enjoy the lake views before returning to Bad Gastein.
Day 4
Today we will have a full day dedicated to the experience along the Großglockner High Alpine Road, one of the most spectacular panoramic roads in Europe. This road passes through the Austrian Alps and offers breathtaking views of Austria’s highest mountain, the Großglockner (cable car extra). Photo stops and time to enjoy the unique natural alpine environment. Return to the hotel.
Day 5
After breakfast, depart for Zell am See, a beautiful town on the shores of Lake Zell. Time for a walk along the promenade and those who wish may choose to take a boat ride on Lake Zell (extra). In the afternoon continue to Kaprun High Mountain Reservoirs. Take the Lärchwand cable car (extra), the largest passenger cable car in Europe, providing stunning panoramic views of the Hohe Tauern mountains. We will also see the impressive reservoirs surrounded by spectacular alpine scenery. A unique mountain experience before returning to the hotel.
Day 6
After breakfast, check-out and depart for Munich Airport via Rosenheim, where we will make a short stop if time permits. Continue to the airport for flight KM309 departing at 17:10 and arriving back in Malta at 19:30.
