Day 1
Meet at Malta International Airport at 05:00 for flight KM612 with KM Malta Airlines, departing at 07:00 to Rome Airport, arriving at 08:35. Transfer by coach to our first destination in the Lazio region: Castel Gandolfo and Lake Albano. Guided tour with the leader around the town, the Pope’s summer residence. Visit Piazza della Libertà, Via Roma, Via Palazzo Pontificio, and the belvedere to enjoy stunning views of Lake Albano. Free time. Continue by coach to the Umbria region, to the town of Terni. Check-in at Hotel Michelangelo Palace 4★. Evening outing with the leader. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 2
Breakfast. Today’s excursion includes a visit to the Tuscany region, exploring Arezzo, a town rich in monuments, churches, and palaces offering a beautiful historic itinerary. With the leader, visit Piazza Guido Monaco, Basilica of San Francesco, Maria Delle Pieve, Piazza Grande, Palazzo della Provincia, Piazza della Libertà, and the Cathedral of San Pietro and San Donato. Free time along the elegant Corso Italia for shopping. In the afternoon, return to Terni, free time for shopping and personal sightseeing. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 3
Breakfast. The day begins through rich fields with vineyards, olive trees, and famous hilltop villages. Visit the Franciscan town of Assisi and discover Renaissance masterpieces. With the leader, visit the Basilica of San Francesco, a World Heritage site housing the Saint’s tomb and Giotto’s masterpieces, Via Francesco, Piazza del Comune, and the Basilica of Santa Chiara. Free time to enjoy the Easter atmosphere in Assisi’s historic centre, then continue to the Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli and the Porziuncola. Transfer by coach to Spoleto, a tourist town, visiting the Cathedral, Piazza della Libertà, and Corso Mazzini. Free time, then return to the hotel in Terni for dinner.
Day 4
Breakfast. Today’s excursion takes us to Gubbio, a medieval town. Visit Giardini dei 40 Martiri, Via Repubblica, Via XX Settembre, Palazzo dei Consoli, and Piazza Grande with panoramic views of the Umbria valley. Free time, then continue to Foligno. Walk through the historic centre, discovering beautiful religious buildings and noble palaces, including Porta Romana, Corso Cavour, Cathedral of San Feliciano, and Piazza della Repubblica with its impressive Town Hall. Free time, then return to the hotel for dinner.
Day 5
Breakfast. Begin the day with a trip to Perugia, the largest city in Umbria. With the tour leader, explore the historic centre, including the underground tunnels and rooms of Rocca Paolina fortress, Piazza Italia, Corso Pietro Vannicci, Piazza della Repubblica, the Cathedral, and the Giardini Carducci belvedere. Free time, then continue to the Perugina Chocolate Factory for a guided tour and unique chocolate experience (extra). Return to Terni. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 6
Breakfast. Depart for western Umbria to visit Orvieto. Guided tour of the Cathedral with its stunning medieval façade, Corso Cavour, Torre del Moro, Via Duomo, and the elegant Piazza della Repubblica. Free time, then continue to the Marmore Falls (extra), one of Europe’s tallest and most spectacular natural attractions. Return to Terni. Dinner at the hotel.
Day 7
After breakfast, depart Terni for the Lazio region and Rome, the capital city. Upon arrival, guided walking tour of the city’s main historic sites with the leader: Piazza del Popolo, Piazza di Spagna, Piazza Venezia, the Trevi Fountain, and Piazza Navona. Free time, then continue to Tivoli to see Villa d’Este (extra), a 16th-century villa with famous Renaissance gardens and numerous fountains. Transfer to Fiumicino Airport for flight KM615 at 21:00 back to Malta.
