We gather at the airport at 07:00 for check-in for flight KM306 departing at 09:05 and arriving in Munich at 11:35. After check-in at Hotel Wallis, we head to the city center to explore. Our itinerary includes a visit to the central square, Marienplatz, dominated by the domes of Frauenkirche, a fifteenth-century church. We'll also see the famous Glockenspiel clock in front of Neues Rathaus, located in the same square.
Today, we'll discover the beauty of Neuschwanstein Castle, the neo-Romanesque masterpiece of King Ludwig II, known worldwide. We'll also visit Marien Bridge for stunning views and 'Hohenschwangau Castle' (additional entrance fee), followed by a tour of the charming village of Füssen, nestled in the Alps foothills.
An excursion full of history awaits as we visit the famous city of Salzburg. Our tour includes landmarks such as the cathedral, Residence Square, Market Square, Getreidegasse, and Mozart's house. Additionally, we'll explore Capital Square and have the option to take a cable car (additional charge) to Hohensalzburg Fortress. Later, there's free time to explore before an evening outing with the tour leader.
After breakfast, we embark on an excursion to Garmisch-Partenkirchen, a renowned German skiing resort and the site of the 1936 Winter Olympics. Then, we continue to Zugspitze, Germany's highest mountain (10,000 feet), accessed via cable car (additional charge), offering unforgettable panoramic views of Bavaria. We return to the hotel afterward.
Following breakfast, we enjoy a day break in the beautiful city of Augsburg. A guided city tour takes us through the center, showcasing landmarks like the Town Hall and UNESCO World Heritage sites. Free time allows for personal exploration before returning to Munich.
Today's excursion takes us to Berchtesgaden and Konigsee. We visit the famous Salt Mines (additional entrance fee) in Berchtesgaden before continuing to Lake Konigsee, the deepest and cleanest lake in Germany, resembling a Norwegian fjord. Optional boat tours (additional fee) provide opportunities for exploration and souvenir shopping before returning to the hotel for dinner.
After breakfast, we embark on an excursion to the picturesque town of Rosenheim in Bavaria, Germany. Highlights include Max Josef Platz, Kirche St. Nikolaus, Ludwigplatz, and the cathedral. Free time allows for personal sightseeing before our transfer to Munich airport for flight KM309 departing at 19:00 and arriving back in Malta at 21:20.
