We meet at the airport at 05:00 for flight KM352 to Düsseldorf, which departs at 06:50 and arrives at 09:50. Upon arrival, we transfer by coach to explore the beautiful city of Düsseldorf, where we visit key highlights such as Burgplatz, Schlossturm, and the Old Town—an area known for its more than 260 bars, restaurants, cafés, and breweries. There will also be free time to stroll through the renowned Christmas Markets, which Düsseldorf is so famous for. Later, we depart by coach for Cologne, where we check in at the 4-star Novotel Köln City Hotel. After settling into our rooms, we head out with the tour leader for a short evening walk.
After breakfast, we head out for a fascinating half-day excursion to the charming city of Aachen, rich in history and culture. We visit key attractions such as the impressive cathedral and the Elisenbrunnen fountain, passing through picturesque streets lined with cafés and gelaterias that are hard to resist. There will be ample free time to enjoy the traditional German Christmas Markets, known for their handmade Christmas decorations, warm aromas of roasted chestnuts, mulled wine, and sausages. We then return to Cologne, where we join the tour leader for a walk to explore the city’s highlights and enjoy the magical atmosphere of the city's beautifully decorated Christmas Markets.
Today we enjoy a scenic excursion through the enchanting Loreley Valley and visit the picturesque villages of Koblenz and Rüdesheim am Rhein. Along the way, we pass stunning landscapes lining both sides of the Rhine River. With the tour leader, we explore the historical centre of Koblenz with its narrow streets, the Rathaus, Münzplatz, and the Liebfrauenkirche. We then continue on to Rüdesheim am Rhein, an ancient town south of Koblenz. Upon arrival, we visit Marktplatz, the Adlerturm (Eagle Tower), and the charming Drosselgasse, a street filled with wine shops, pubs, and the opportunity to taste the famous Rüdesheimer Kaffee. We also visit the local Christmas Market, one of the many that make Germany so magical during this season.
Today, we offer an enriching excursion to the city of Bonn, where we visit landmarks such as the Market Square, Town Hall, and the Minister Church—an iconic symbol of the city. Bonn is also the birthplace of the famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven. We return to Cologne for some last-minute sightseeing and shopping in the bustling areas of Schildergasse and Hohe Straße, where we visit Cologne’s most famous Christmas Market. This magical market attracts millions of visitors from all over the world and features a wide variety of stalls selling handmade Christmas decorations, glass-blown ornaments, crafts, and more. The air will be filled with the festive scents of mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, gingerbread, and the ever-popular bratwurst. In the evening, we head to Düsseldorf Airport for flight KM353, departing at 18:45 and arriving back in Malta at 21:35.
