Festive season
We meet at the airport at 07:00 for check-in for flight KM306, which departs at 07:15 and arrives in Munich at 09:45.
Transfer by coach to the Olympic Village, where we’ll see the Olympic Stadium and have the option to take the lift (extra charge) to enjoy unique panoramic views. We then proceed to our centrally located hotel, Hotel Wallis (3 stars) in Munich. After check-in, we go out with our tour leader to visit Marienplatz, the main square, dominated by the twin domes of Frauenkirche, a 15th-century church. We’ll also see the famous Glockenspiel clock on the façade of the Neues Rathaus, located in the same square.
Today, enjoy the natural beauty of the Bavarian Alps as we head to Zugspitze, Germany’s highest mountain at 9,788 feet. From Eibsee, we take the cable car (extra charge) that takes us to the summit, where breathtaking views of the Bavarian Alps await. After enjoying nature’s wonders, we descend and continue on to Ettal, where we visit the famous Benedictine Monastery and have some free time for souvenir shopping.
Return to the hotel.
After breakfast, we’ll go on a half-day excursion to the beautiful town of Augsburg. We'll take a walking tour to see the city’s landmarks such as St. Peter am Perlach, Zeughaus, Fuggerhaus, and more. You’ll then have free time in the city center, where you’ll find many shops, cafés, and restaurants.
Later, we return to Munich where you'll have time to continue exploring this vibrant city.
A history-filled excursion today as we visit the famous city of Salzburg. Known for its historic charm and its connection to The Sound of Music, Salzburg will enchant you. We visit the Cathedral, Residence Square, Market Square, Getreidegasse, and Mozart’s House. We also go to Capital Square, where you can take the funicular (extra charge) up to Hohensalzburg Fortress. You’ll have free time to explore the city, especially with its festive Christmas markets. Evening outing with the tour leader.
After breakfast, enjoy a free day to explore this beautiful city further and soak in the festive New Year atmosphere. In the evening, you can head to the main square to join in the public celebrations or, for those interested (optional, extra charge), we will organize a New Year's Eve Party with food, drinks, singing, dancing, and fun! A very special excursion today as we discover the magical Neuschwanstein Castle, built by King Ludwig II in neo-Romanesque style and world-renowned for its fairytale look. We’ll also visit Marienbrücke (Mary’s Bridge), the perfect spot to take stunning photos of the castle. Afterwards, we visit Hohenschwangau Castle, where you’ll have the opportunity to go inside and admire its beauty (entrance fee not included). We end the day at the village of Füssen, a famous holiday and spa resort nestled at the foothills of the Alps, where we’ll tour the historic city center.
After breakfast, we head to the charming town of Rosenheim, located in Bavaria. On arrival, we’ll enjoy a walking tour of the town center to see its highlights including: Max-Josef-Platz , St. Nicholas Church , Ludwigplatz The Cathedral, and more. Free time for personal sightseeing. Transfer to Munich Airport for flight KM309, departing at 20:00, arriving back in Malta at 22:20.
