Friday 19th December
We meet at Malta International Airport at 06:00 for flight FR2186, departing at 08:10 and arriving in Zagreb at 10:05. Upon arrival, we head to the city centre of Zagreb for a guided tour of the Croatian capital. Highlights include the Assumption Cathedral, Tkalčićeva Street (known for its cafés and restaurants), the Lotrščak Tower, and the iconic St. Mark’s Church with its colourful rooftop. After the tour, we check in at the Hotel Dubrovnik 4*, centrally located in the main square. The evening is free to enjoy the magical Christmas Market and the beautifully lit streets of Zagreb.
Saturday 20th December
After breakfast, we depart for a full-day excursion to Slovenia. Our first stop is the picturesque capital, Ljubljana, where we explore the medieval castle, Old Town, Dragon Bridge, and beautiful squares. You’ll then have free time to enjoy the Christmas Market along the Ljubljanica River. In the afternoon, we head to Novo Mesto to visit a traditional farm for wine tasting and cold cuts. We return to Zagreb in the evening.
Sunday 21st December
Today we visit one of Croatia’s most stunning natural wonders – the Plitvice Lakes National Park (entrance extra). The park is famous for its sixteen crystal-clear lakes connected by cascading waterfalls and surrounded by unspoiled nature. We’ll walk through this breathtaking landscape, enjoying a day of pure tranquillity and scenic beauty. Afterwards, we return to our hotel in Zagreb.
Monday 22nd December
Breakfast and some free time. Later, we visit the Trakošćan Castle, located in northern Croatia, dating back to the 13th century. It is considered one of the best-preserved and most beautiful castles in Croatia. We then make a short stop at the charming village of Varaždin to explore its historic centre and enjoy some free time. Finally, we head to Zagreb Airport for flight FR2375 departing at 20:30, arriving back in Malta at 22:25.
