Sorrento, Capri & the Amalfi Coast

27 March 2024 - 02 April 2024

Visiting

Sorrento, Napoli, Amalfi Coast, Ravallo

Capri,  Pompei, Montecassino, ....

Arrive to this part of Italy where colours are so dominant. Start off your holiday by admiring Piazza Tasso in Sorrento and don’t miss out on the shopping both in large stores and in little, quaint shops in the narrow roads.  Spend time strolling in the alleys and while keeping an eye open for a bargain or too, be stunned by the original displays put up while enjoying a local snack.

Visit the historical centre of Naples, best known for its archeological treasures and enjoy the port and yacht marina in the Mergellina Zone.  Move on to Piazza Plebiscito with its beautiful layout and the magnificant Basilica Reale San Francesco di Paola.  Enjoy the breathtaking frescoes at Palazzo Reale and the Cathedral dedicated to San Gennaro.   Travel back to medieval times and take pictures of Castel Nuovo, located in front of Piazza Municipio. Interested in shopping? Do it at Galleria Umberto 1 before you move on to other highlights of the city.

Go back in history and feel the tragedy the people of Pompei suffered on the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.  Learn about their way of life and enjoy walking through the well preserved ruins. Visit the Santuary of Our Lady of Pompei and offer prayers of eternal rest for all the victims.

Another ferry, another destination, this time one of the most frequented islands by Hollywood legends, the romantic island of Capri. Use other methods of transport to cover all the highlights this island has to offer, including the Piazzetta, Augustus Gardens and Via Camerelle. Be stunned by the amazing view at Monte Solaro and take home memories you will treasure for the rest of your life.

This trip will not be complete unless you experience the beauty of the Amalfi coast. Stop at a viewpoint to observe Positano before you reach the magestic town of Amalfi, a Unesco World Heritage Site. Proceed to the overpowering cathedral and make a bet by guessing how many steps you need to go up to reach it. Once up there, make it a point to also visit the Chiostro Del Paradiso, which with is 120 marble columns supporting Arabic arches around a well looked after garden, will give more value to your Amalfi experience. It is worth travelling up the winding road to Ravello where astonishing views of the Amalfi coast below will take your breadth away. Take one last memory home when visiting the Abbey of Montecassino, a benedictine monastery, well known for its precious paintings.
