Get acquainted with the Citta Alta and the Citta Bassa, connected by a funicular, at the city of Bergamo.  Visit Via Sentierone and the Palazzo di Giustizzia at the Citta Bassa before you proceed to Citta Alta where you will not only be thrilled by the tangle of medieval streets but also by the overwhelming view of the lower city. Appreciate the Renaissance and Baroque architecture when you come across Palazzo della Ragione, Cappella Colleoni and the Battistero.  Put aside time to have a light lunch before you proceed to a very huge shopping establishment, that of Orio al Serio.

An excursion will remain dear to you as you breath in spectacular views of the Alps and glaciers as you take up a chairlift to Monte Rosa, the second tallest mountain in Europe. Time will also be spared to enjoy the calm and quite village of Macugnaga.

Pleasing to your eyes and heart will be the excursion to Como, with yet another lake to charm you with its natural beauty. A cruise on the lake will take you to the village of Bellaggio where once there, you will have the opportunity to explore it, just like you explored Como with your tour leader.

Another highlight of your journey is the trip to the Borromean Islands.  The picturesque setting will put you in the right mood to enjoy the Isola Bella and all the treasures, natural and otherwise found at  the Palace. The next island, Isola dei Pescatori offers narrow medieval streets and definitely a superb lunch if fish appeals to you. The time to discover the third island has come and a leisurely trip around the Isola Madre, a precious jewel in the waters of Lake Maggiore, will be very relaxing and enjoyable.  Arrival at Stresa will offer you the opportunity to admire what this town has to offer and maybe buy a souvenir as a memorabilia.

Before you start your journey back home, visit the metropolitan city of Milano. While acknowledging the highlights of the city, mainly the Castello Sforzesco, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, Teatro alla Scala, definitely the dominant building and the one most worth viewing is the Cathedral, commonly known as the Duomo in Piazza Duomo.
